Saturday 1 Feb 2020, A Slaughterous Afternoon with Tod

The Cinema Museum, London, 2 Dugard Way (off Renfrew Road), London SE11 4TH

There’s an incredibly rare opportunity to catch a double-bill of films featuring the inimitable Tod Slaughter, with screenings of Crimes at the Dark House (1940) and The Face at the Window (1939) to tie in with a new biography on the first true star of British horror entitled Mr: Murder: The Life and Times of Tod Slaughter, written by Denis Meikle, Kip Xool and Doug Young and published by Hemlock Books. The Cinema Museum is hosting, aptly, as back in the 1920s Slaughter himself managed the Elephant&Castle Theatre just a stone’s throw away, and I’m going to be on-hand to give a brief intro to Crimes at the Dark House.
